This dress and the colour of the walls are just gorgeous.

Daily Outfit: The World's Festival

What a wonderful opportunity to kick back, eat good food, drink wine and listen to music with your shoes off. Didn't hurt that it was perfect weather all weekend. Just the one outfit from the festival (after, I presume...) as I was too busy enjoying myself.

Daily Outfit: Just where were we?

Goodness. I'm really not sure which week we're up to now. On with the outfits!

Mechanical Dolls

I just love these creepy photographs by Tim Walker (Vogue Italia, October 2011).

So hard to pick a favourite! I really like the colour of the pink smoke in the kimono one but the expression on that little matchstick marionette.... Another amazing set.

My best friend who lives over in Melbourne is the lucky owner of his book, Pictures. Amazing to flip through when you're needing some inspiration!

The Cat Lady

I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that I'm turning into (or perhaps have already become) a crazy cat lady. Last night on the walk home from dinner we sat down in the middle of the city streets to befriend the loveliest Siamese. However, instead of grubby newspapers accumulating around me, threatening to topple over and drown me in outdated news, I have found myself the owner of the most ridiculous collection of fashion magazines, that I've been slowly trying to whittle down (in an attempt to curtail the Crazy Cat Lady Thing). I feel I'm fighting a losing battle.

Anyway. On with the cats (you may have noticed me being a fan before).

Daily Outfit: Another work week collection!

You've been waiting so patiently between drinks while I get my act together. Thank you!

New shirt, new skirt, fun shoes. Yes!

Hot and bothered on a Wednesday.

For some reason, Thursday is missing so you get Friday's purple-lipped hot weather attire instead. Enjoy!

I do hope you appreciate the addition of ridiculous poses and mixing up the background. Only so much you can do with corrugated iron!

Sorry for the absence folks. I headed off on year 12 retreat last week and... failed to keep you updated. Since then I've felt like I'm on a retreat from my real life and I'm not quite sure how to get back into it. Nor that I want to.

Just a Minute in February

A quick one for a quick month, before we get too far into Mad March. Here's the January edition.

Reading... in the morning, after school and in bed. Sometimes I (foolishly!) take my novel with me to school, thinking that I'll have time to read it at lunch. Haha! When I'm feeling overwhelmed/under the weather, one of the best things for me to do is spend a calm half hour in the library, rediscovering my interests and collecting brain food.

Listening... to a CD picked up from the library spontaneously, Coeur de Pirate. It's most excellent and has me singing in French all the way to school! We also were lucky enough to see one of my all-time favourites, Death Cab for Cutie in concert this month.

Wishing... I had more time for blogging.

Watching... I'm not really a TV or movie person, I've come to realise. We saw Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in the cinema three weeks ago and I really liked the editing of that but haven't had time to do a PalaceNova movie Monday for a while. Last week I saw some Fringe comedy!

Buying... birthday presents for the manfriend, my first lot of clothes from ASOS, Gilles St Market goodies and a new DS game. I should be saving for France!

Wanting... to write in my diary more.

Missing... my sister.

Cooking... most nights. Making good use of my vegetarian cookbook.

Making... plans, time to play music and see friends, a mess of the bedroom floor, costumes for parties.

Loving... warm nights. Trying to be grateful for what I have in an attempt to be happier.

So how did the month pan out for you? Did you achieve what you set out to?
I've been dreaming in French, reading lots, being overwhelmed by work and trying to exercise semi-regularly. Let's give ourselves gold stars for the amazing job we're doing every day!
